At the end of 2022, the Vision Committee completed its work in the Journey Continues Capital Project. Due to COVID, the project originally planned was altered and took longer than expected. However, the committee is pleased with all the capital improvements.

The committee intentionally did not meet the first half of 2023. When we reconvened, Vision realized that while we had a great mission statement (what we do), Southland had never adopted church values (why we do what we do.) Values express our culture together as a church. Values state what makes us a unique expression of the body of Christ. At the end of 2023, we began to brainstorm. There were over 20 ideas at the beginning. We narrowed those ideas down to 10. We then distributed those 10 ideas to the different divisions and committees in the church for their input. Those ten ideas have now been condensed to four proposed values by the vision committee for Southland to adopt.
